Welcome Fall!

October 2, 2016
I hope everyone had a wonderful fall break! I am excited to see the kiddos tomorrow!!
For first and second graders: new spelling lists will be coming home tomorrow, I can't wait to see those 100% again! In reading groups we will continue with short vowels and understanding what we read.
Kindergartners will continue with letter of the week, this weeks letter is Cc. In math we will continue to count to 20 and practice writing our numbers through 5.
First graders will be working on adding to 10 and counting to 100
Second graders will continue practicing their addition and subtraction facts as well as place value to 100.
In whole group science and social studies we will be learning about animal babies, similarities and differences between animals and states of matter.
Conference week is October 17-21. I will be sending home a schedule and we will work together to pick the best time to meet.  This is a great time to go over your child's progress and answer any questions you may have.

Congratulations to theses smarties!  100% on the first spelling test of the year!

We had a wonderful last day before Fall Break celebrating John's birthday!

We are looking forward to a fun day tomorrow!  We will have assessments in the morning and then we are going to do a cooking activity.  The students are so excited about making peanut butter banana delight!  We have been talking about the storms in Florida, which has led to many conversations about hurricanes and tornadoes.  We are going to make tornadoes in a jar tomorrow, as well! It will be a great way o end an awesome week of learning!  I will have to newsletter up by Friday evening. Happy Labor Day weekend!
