Wow! We have had a wonderful week! It was nice to be back on our regular schedule.  We had fun learning about all things fall: scarecrows, apples, pumpkins, and reading lots of spooky books! We tasted 3 types of apples: red, yellow and green then discussed how they all tasted.  After that we graphed our results.

Welcome Fall!

October 2, 2016
I hope everyone had a wonderful fall break! I am excited to see the kiddos tomorrow!!
For first and second graders: new spelling lists will be coming home tomorrow, I can't wait to see those 100% again! In reading groups we will continue with short vowels and understanding what we read.
Kindergartners will continue with letter of the week, this weeks letter is Cc. In math we will continue to count to 20 and practice writing our numbers through 5.
First graders will be working on adding to 10 and counting to 100
Second graders will continue practicing their addition and subtraction facts as well as place value to 100.
In whole group science and social studies we will be learning about animal babies, similarities and differences between animals and states of matter.
Conference week is October 17-21. I will be sending home a schedule and we will work together to pick the best time to meet.  This is a great time to go over your child's progress and answer any questions you may have.

Congratulations to theses smarties!  100% on the first spelling test of the year!

We had a wonderful last day before Fall Break celebrating John's birthday!
