                   Here are some ideas that students can participate in at home.  

Suggested Allotted Time	Subject / Activity
20 minutes	Reading ·       RAZ Kids -Read One story per day and answer assigned questions. ·       Complete assigned assessments on the students RAZ kids log-in, for example, Alphabet match and sight words
20 minutes	Social Studies & Science ·       Use Cobb Digital Library on Cobb website- Have student search for a Social Studies and Science Topics and watch videos on Pebble GO and/or Brain Pop
15-20 minutes	Writing ·       ReadWriteThink.org- Go to student interactives and the students choose activities, can be saved or printed http://www.readwritethink.org/ ·       Story Starters- kids can log on and create a simple story and then it can be printed or downloaded http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/

Hello! We had a wonderful week last week. We enjoyed a 5 Senses walk/experiment on Friday. The students were excited to taste, smell and feel new items and guess what they were! I will include pictures after this post. 

Patriot's Day is Wednesday, September 11th Please encourage your child to wear  red, white and blue. We will spend time talking about the heroes of September 11 as well as honoring our country and flag.
Picture day is Friday!! Please send money in the picture envelope if you would like a picture package.

This week our kindergartners will continue learning letter sounds and writing their letters. We will also be practicing rhyming words. In math,Kindergarten will be counting and writing numbers to 20 as well as drawing shapes.

Our first and second graders will continue with making words (at varying levels, depending on level) an reading their guided reading books. I am so proud of how well they are progressing with their reading and writing. We will be writing narratives about heroes in our lives this week.

In math we will continue practicing adding and subtracting as well as base ten, and money. Please check your child's folder on Fridays to see the AWESOME work they have been doing!
