THIS Friday is the field trip to the Georgia Aquarium. This field trip is the perfect starting point to learning about and researching animals. Talk with your student this week about somethings they might see at the aquarium and somethings they would like to see! On Friday, please make sure that your student has a bigger breakfast than normal. We will not be eating lunch until after we return from the field trip at the end of the day. I will be bringing the students some crackers to tide them over during the field trip. This is a super fun field trip and we can't wait!

Happy Spring Break! I hope everyone has a wonderful break enjoying time with your families. I just wanted to post some pictures of this last week. We have had a great week of learning and fun! Yesterday we had a reptile specialist visit and the kids loved it, they got to learn about the reptiles and even touch some of them. It was perfect to tie in to our animal units.
We also did some really fun science experiments this week. The kids had a great time with the hands on learning!! April is going to be a busy month with field trips and school activities. I will post a calendar after the break.

Hello! Happy spring!!
We are working hard through the month of March! You may have noticed spelling words are the same as last week. As you know I was out a couple days last week with strep throat and didn't feel the students were ready to take the test. We are continuing to learn about parts of a plant and what plants need to survive. We have started our own seeds and as you can see in the pictures below, they are really growing! The kids love coming in everyday and checking on what they need!
Next week we are starting our explanatory/informational writing projects. We have been learning about the 7 continents and the animal habitats in each area. The students are going to pick an animal to learn facts about. We will then write about what we have learned. This is always such a fun report for the students as we get to share all the information we have learned about our own special animal. I will be having parents come in and listen to their reports towards the end of April. I will send more information as it gets closer.
Don't forget this Friday Sedalia Park is turning 60! We are having a "Decades Dance" to celebrate. The dance will be in the cafeteria from 7-9pm. Feel free to dress in your favorite decade and come dance!

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss! We had such a fun day celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday! We read and discussed many Dr Seuss books, tried green eggs and ham, met THING 1 and THING 2, and wrote about our favorite books. We predicted who would like eating green eggs and ham yesterday and today a lot of the kids changed their answers from no to yes!! I hope it was a memorable day for them.
